Hello,
I am currently planning to setup a new server system and would like suggestions and inputs into what cooling I should order.
Here is some information about the speciation’s that relate to the cooling.
Chassis: Norco RPC-4224
CPU: Dual Intel Xeon E5-2630
Motherboard: Supermicro X9DRD-7LN4F
Hard drives: 24x 7200RPM Hard drives

Cooling Ideas:
- 120mm fan wall bracket for RPC-4224 http://www.ipcdirect.net/servlet/Detail?no=258
- 2x Noctua NF-R8 80mm Fan (Back) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608006
- 3x Noctua NF-P12-1300 120mm (Wall Bracket) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608004
- 4x 40mm fans (Back)
The CPU is really the hardest part to workout, more suggestions the beater. :) Would prefer a cooling system that does not involve any coolant refilling but self-contained liquid cooling is fine.

- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

* Not sure where to buy the item.

Thank you all in advance.

Just quickly... I don't think the 212 is short enough for a 4U - try the 92mm Noctua cooler instead, they work well in that sort of setup. That cooler keeps our 2630s cool in a 4224.

Z9PE-D16. I will have photos later on this week.
Great.

Where are the 40mm fans going in that chassis? Mounting above the I/O panel?
Yes, i was planning to mount them there but still need to check the size of the I/O panel. Maybe next time i open the 4224, i will check the size.

I was thinking that liquid cooling would be a beater option if i could find a the right cooling system. What do you think? So far builds that i can find only use 1 CPU, as shown in the below images.

Also, if you do not mind do you have a list of parts in your system? Maybe from the order that you can just copy and paste if it is not much effort.

First pic is another server of mine.

H100 doesn't fit in a 4224 with an SSI EEB sized motherboard - what size is your board?

Sorry, I said I/O panel but I meant PCI slots - brain spasm.

Great.

E-ATX

Sorry I was meaning the same thing...

I am also from Australia, where do you order your sever parts from? Mainly techbuy myself.
E-ATX... same size as SSI CEB, iirc - your board should butt up against the fan wall (depending on which way you face the fan wall) so it'll probably clash with a H100. I'll show you the photos of the last setup I put together in a 4224 and see what you think.

We get our stuff from wholesalers - we're a small system integrator/parts seller ourselves... like Techbuy but a whole lot smaller and not in Sydney ;)

Also, any other recommendations for cooling? Maybe a external rack mount unit (just an idea)

92mm fans are fine from a cooling perspective. With those xeons you won't need more. remember they are only 95w parts.
