Hey folks,
Maybe it's not the hottest deal, but Amazon has a new Intel D3-S4510 1.92 TB for 109$. If you need new drives now, it may be a good alternative to a bundle of used drives.
I was able to buy it as an Amazon Lighting deal for 101$. The drive is new, it arrived in a transparent box, and the pack date is July 2023.

(But for eu the amazon link is still great because amazon sells it for ~450€ while other places sell it for >950€)

I am not sure if you mean we should be leery about the Amazon drives. To me, Amazon offers great protection if for some reason the drives aren’t new and you’ve got a good proof of purchase for an Intel warranty claim.

Along these lines, intel 2TB NVME, $64 I think intel is hitting out of the storage business.

Intel sold their storage business to SK Hynix, and is now known as Solidigm.


Imo the 670p at $65 isn't exactly a deal considering the 2TB Samsung 970 evo plus goes for just $15 more at $79.

It's not surprising that NVMe drives of similar size/gen/spec are cheaper - they're simpler and lack SATA interface.
Also no heat-dissipating case. This specific Intel 670p is a consumer drive, so no PLP.
Price seems alright to me for a new drive, but i'm not a connoisseur of NVMe's.

Could someone explain why on the seller's website manufacturer recertified and seller refurbushed were $300 as opposed to new at $120? Recertified are sold out.

There is some inconsistency between Solidigm's specs and Intel's datasheet. Probably minor, but Solidigm shows PBW at 6.5 while an online calculator says 7 PBW based on 2 DWPD over 5 years.

Reporting in because I purchased two of these a week ago when I noticed this deal. Tried to talk myself out of it but I needed some SSDs for a few light-to-mid-duty VMs and haven't had any luck finding a good deal on any used Samsung SM863a's.

The SSDs arrived in the original Intel plastic clamshells with "pack dates" in June 2023. They both had zero hours & zero usage, as expected. Better still, both drives show the full 5-year warranty when checked on Solidigm's site.

Small sample size, but I haven't had any issues with ServerPartDeals in the few purchases I've made (directly and now through Amazon).

Maybe they haven't had manufacturer recertified and/or refurbished drives in stock in a while and simply haven't updated the pricing? This is simply a guess, though.

Regarding how these brand-new drives are being sold at this price, my only thought is ServerPartDeals got their hands on a lot of these drives for a good price (possibly because they're still Intel branded) and is trying to move them quickly.

In a manner of speaking. Deal with SK Hynix of South Korean to transfer Intel NAND business in 2020 but it has gone really slow due to cash problems on the Hynix side. I think Hynix finally made one of their last big payments and Intel is transfering the 3D NAND fab in Dalian China. I see intel branded SSDs going really cheap lately. Bought 16 recently (12 2TB for a NAS and 2 spares and 2x1TB for computers for computers around house. Somewhere in the packaging it states that Hynix would be handing the full warranty. Intel 3D has a high write cycle count for TLC.

first time buying enterprises hardware and i've read that some need special cables/pcie cards
