I have a gigabyte mz32-ar0 motherboard and some very hot pcie cards. There are smbus and pmbus interfaces on my motherboard, when I connect the power supply to the pmbus, the temperature of the power supply can be read in the bmc.
I want to add a fan to my pcie card to enhance heat dissipation, but the bmc can't read the temperature of the pcie, so I want to add an additional temperature sensor, and in fact the fan interface on the motherboard is not enough.
I found two old articles about adding an extra temperature sensor to the motherboard via smbus, has anyone tried something similar and does this still work with current motherboards. If it is possible, is it possible to add a pwm controller in a similar way?
Thank you everyone.
