HP ProDesk 600 G1 SFF

Hi all,
I've been gifted two Hp ProDesk 600 G1 with i3-4160 cpu and without ram or disks.
Has anyone tried to install a xeon cpu like the E3-1240L v3 in this computers?

I have a HP Elitedesk 800 G1 USDT that has received a Xeon E3-1265L v3, and it works ok.

The chipsets are different, so my info may not be very useful...

E3-1240L v3 CPU does not have iGPU.
answer is NO.
You need E3-12x5 or E3-12x6 chip

So my best choice seems to be Xeon E3-1265L v3.

The Xeon E3-1265L v3 is good if you want a low power (the L letter) and low cost Xeon. Usually more "upscale" Xeon are more expensive.
It can be had from Aliexpress at around 65 Euros, while a E3-1275 v3 is around 120 Euros, and a E3-1285 v3 goes for around 130 Euros.

The idea is to get more cpu resources with a low(er) power consumption because the pc will work as server/router with some service in my home network.
I plan to install Debian with Home Assistant, Zabbix, Mqtt, PiHole, Heimdall, Wireguard and some other service but the network is really small and I'm fairly sure that the services will not stress the cpu.

Actually I'm using a pi4 but is a pain to install a vanilla Debian on it with the boot from ssd so, having received this pc for free, I thought to spice it up a little.

From your description of services , a I5-4xxx low power ( L version for the HP mini due to heat ) is all you need.

I5-4xxL price was dirt cheap before today's crazy price.

Unfortunately in Europe the prices are not so convenient, the lowest I've found a I5-4570T is about 60€ that is almost the price for a Xeon from Aliexpress.

For now I want to get some ram stick and try the pc, the cpu swap can be done later.
