I'm not saying $152 is bad but I bought my 4TB drives over a year ago for $135 ea. When are these pricing going to come down already especially since 5/6TB are out.

Agreed - I'm still bitter about the post-2011-flood price hikes. 6tb cost/gb is not practical for me, and I'd like to see at least a year of SMR reliability experience before going there.

It's stupid that external 5TB drives are $120-140.

SMR are slow for anything but sequential... Just due to the nature of the technology... 20% cheaper because they suck.

Well, they're for cold storage right? I honestly don't get the whole concept of the cheapest drive for cold storage. If I want my data 'safe' in cold storage no way in hell will I put it on the CHEAPEST drive they make because they say that's what it's for.
