Right now there are 4 drives in my media server. They are connected directly to the motherboard. If I install a Host Bus Adapter (in IT mode) will my drive letters change?

The drive letters should be mapped to the UUID of the filesystems on your drives. Just installing the HBA does not by itself create any new filesystems. When you do initialize disks and format a new filesystem it should assign the next available drive letter (but you can also force what drive letter gets use when you format the filesystem). So no, the drive letters of your existing drives should not change.

The drive letters assigned to removable media might change.

I try this in Windows OS, from intel RSTe to LSI , because the raid info change, but I don't have other HDD driver, so the order was same.
