Hi, I have a H12SSL with 7313 CPU. I wanted to use one 8 pin connector for the GPU but the system is not starting with only one connector connected. After that I tried to split the 2nd one with y cable, but if I put it into the gpu system is not starting again. If I took it off, it works.
Is there a way to solve this?

what PSU ?
GPU needs independent +12V or the PSU must have only one +12V Rail.
molex to 8 pin dones not work, molex are same source than 24pin = lower max. current.

PSU is PWS-1K28P-SQ

Molex to 8 pin gpu works. That’s how it’s running rn, but I’m filling the Supermicro 846 with storage and will need the molex for it.

What option I have instead of this?
whats impossible can't be solved.
if your molex OCP is at low current you get issues, sometimes the OCP is disabled by shorting independent +12V rails, you risk a fire.

conclusion is : you can not generaly say molex->8pin works. like a lottery if you don't know anything about the PSU.

can you check temp. with ATX PSU if it generaly works and proof it is a PSU issue ?

Since it entirely depends on the power supply board, if it doesn't have GPU power plugs you're out of luck

Here from reddit:

I just did it. Yes it fits and the PWS-1K21P-1R P/S I have slide in just as they did before. The metal plate that the PDB sits on needs to be dremeled away a bit at the bottom as the power sockets on the PT747 are wider than the PT846 and won't slide all the way onto the plate without that bit of adjustment.

Also, I had trouble getting the plastic cover on due to there being more wires coming off the PT747. I finally said F it and just left it off.
