Genoa ES CPUs + SM H13SSL bundles on ebay?

I've searched around and can't find much info in regards to the newest Genoa AMD Engineering Sample CPU's (and/or running AMD ES cpus on H13 boards) - Clearly the price is this low for a reason ($1950), as it's essentially the price of a non-es 9334 CPU ALONE , but also includes the H13 Motherboard and 64 GB of DDR5 RAM)

can anyone comment on experiences or what to expect with Genoa Engineering Sample CPUs?

I'm guessing the best case, is That the system boots to an operating system, but you will *never* be able to update the bios.

Is that true? (ie low retail/new price in china?)
(or i assume your being Sarcastic, and if so the reason it's so the price is so low is because it's an engineering sample CPU, which is what im asking about).

They're not joking. CPU runs under $500 on Taobao. Might as well go straight to the source if you're going to get one.

best price i found is ¥ 3500 for 9334 QS but only if you have bank account in Renminbi Yuan.
(currency translation doesn't match the international ratio)
this must not be true price, you have to ask the seller first. can be lower or higher or no stock.
for non chinese people it looks like they don't want really sell something.
On the contrary, the buyer can consider themselves lucky to be able to buy something there. but I've done it many times, it's not like that.

"Foreigner tax" is a vivid word to explain the situation. For cpu so called "9334qs", it says around $600 but actually you can get it at $470. The motherboard is around $650 ,where the menorys are about 100$

with intel socket boards my rule is
"if you want to run ES . stay away from supermicro X12 and up"
don't know if this rule is valid for EPYC in any case.

There are some exceptions
X12SPA and H13SSL have official 1.0 BIOS, we can download from drunkencat and flash through IPMI WebGUI to run ES. but Genoa ES A stepping only supports 3600MHz DDR5 memory (and low fclk)

i never sayd there is no way, OK if you want to stay with a BIOS full of bugs have fun.
had X12spl w. BIOS 1.0 - no Boot with Sata DVD connected, you can still use AFU to brick the board, check the relnotes.

it is just a SM-Link collection, don't store any BIOS.

Actually, Genoa A stepping CPU is much worse than 1.0 BIOS

Work, but afaIk Genoa A stepping is bad.
Go to B0 stepping to avoid BIOS/CPU bugs.

I got the cpu for 150 bucks lol as long as it works until I can get a 9654 when those come down I'll be aight.

What can I expect.
