Hey folks,

First of all: This is a shameless self-plug, so hope this won't get deleted - BUT I think this definitely qualifies as a great deal.

I'm currently organising a group-buy for Celestica DX010 switches (from USA to Germany).

Key facts:
  • Celestica DX010, labeled as Plexxi PX-S3EQ (both F and R are available) -> 32x100G QSFP28 with Tomahawk 1 ASIC and Atom C2000 CPU
  • Switches have B0 CPU (so potentially with AVR54 bug) BUT they most likely have a board level fix from factory, so that should give them at least 10 years of lifetime - I have already ordered over 13pcs and all of them had the board level fix, so it is very likely that all of the switches in their stock have them (I can't 100% guarantee it though)
  • Switches are new in box and come including railkit
Price all-in (shipped within Germany): ~210€ (difficult to say a final price yet due to exchange rates, varying shipping costs (more switches -> cheaper per switch), etc...)

Right now I'm only planning to reship within Germany, but technically I could also reship within Europe...

I buy them from my dealer and USA and take care of the import tax and shipping over the big pond. I am NOT making any profit with this - this is purely because I, as a homelabber, wish that such deals would be available in Europe... So be the change that you want to see.

Final list of participants (updated July 29th 2024, 23:55 German time)
The deadline was Friday, 26-Jul-24 21:59:59 UTC (23:59:59 German time)

I somewhat miss the "good old days" with groupbuys being more common.

We still do group buys of storage localy here between a small group of us, but hard to find domestic interest in grabbing a pallet of niche hardware to split shipping etc from US.
For me to get it reshipped from you in Germany to Norway will be the same as me just getting it shipped from US to Norway.

Shipping from Germany to Norway (I just tested Oslo) is about 44.90 EUR with UPS. Shipping from USA to Europe is about $200 for a single switch

Interesting, but what should I do with 32x 100G???

a cheap switch with 4x QSFP 25, or 40G would be totally sufficient for me…

But great idea to bring over the switches to Europe

Having it forwarded from US terminal to pickup in my local grocery store in Norway would cost less.

Its just sloooooow as they fill up containers and forward it by sea before bulksplitting it domesticly again with a cheap local freighter.

I'd join in but these are 130w idle. In the EU that hurt lots. if you just need 3 or 4 100G ports mikrotik has a you covered for a third of the idle wattage (but much less ports and no sonic).

Hello, very good idea, shiping to Germany perfect, can I participate?
Sure, shoot me a DM

Having it forwarded from US terminal to pickup in my local grocery store in Norway would cost less.
I could maybe arrange shipping a couple of those to US terminal if you want

if you just need 3 or 4 100G ports mikrotik has a you covered for a third of the idle wattage (but much less ports and no sonic).
and more expensive. You can estimate how long you can let the switch run for 600€ price difference ;)

Yeah, when I re-read his comment I just got it wrong. I interpreted his comment like he can use Mikrotik and doesn't need to use Sonic. That's the difficulty if fly over comments while you are grumpy all day because of some 'air' in the lab. People.

Too late to delete now after your comment. You are toooooo fast.

Can you ship to Switzerland?
I‘m German and my wife is Swiss - you would have to deal with Swiss customs…

There are logistics providers in Germany at the Swiss border, which you could use… no further tax as it’s <300CHF, when you take it cross border

Yes, shipping to Switzerland is about 44.90EUR via UPS.

If you want to know where I can ship:
Yes, I can ship everywhere. Preferably with UPS.

I will ship in the original boxes (no further packaging) which have 69x59x19cm³ and 13.5kg (use 14kg)

Please check the shipping cost yourself. The 210€ includes 10€ shipping within Germany already.
