I've been lurking for a few months and I really appreciate the high-quality information in this community as well as all the hard work that makes it possible.
I am strongly considering one of 2 motherboards from Supermicro: A2SDi-16C-TP8F or A2SDi-H-TP4F. Both have built-in 10GbE SFP+ ports which is important to me. When I read the C3958 marketing materials from Intel, they claim that SR-IOV is supported by the C3000 platform, and there is a minor mention that the ethernet controller supports it too. When I read the list of ethernet controllers which support SR-IOV, neither the C3000 platform or the X553 are specifically mentioned. I also found numerous posts on STH about the Xeon-D with a similar ethernet controller not properly supporting SR-IOV. Does anyone know if SR-IOV is supported on either or both of these motherboards?
