Any particular reason to keep one of these around?

I had it before so I could access to my cisco gear to configure it but I think now I can use adapters, and don't need this huge antec case + Core2Duo... I'm debating just throwing it away since they're not exactly power-friendly compared to the "L" CPU line-up 1 or 2 generations newer.

I'd donate it to Goodwill or some other charity before I'd throw it away.

Only reason I can see to keep it would be as a fairly low efficiency space heater ;)

I have a 15" MacBook Pro core2duo sitting around... Don't think you even give this tech away now but a charity may be an option it's still usable on Linux or Windows

I keep a dell T3400 around for tasks such as testing, formatting, flashing. Only turn it on as needed. Has an old 160 SATA spinner with CentOS on it :)

Load it up as a gateway server for a small office and keep it aside as a spare, or put it off-site as a failover MX. I still have a couple of old P4's for that sort of thing, as long as it's linux based they'll be fine.

you never know when you might need to test out an agp card or pci card again. I also used it to test out a used psu I bought. no worry about frying my new computer when I have the old one to test out on...
