yes, always. but RAM was never that cheap than today.

Both. The older ram is, usually the cheaper it gets so newest stuff is more expensive. And ecc udimms have always been more than ecc registered dimms for the same size, probably because of economies of scale.

Thanks for the heads up. Out of curiosity checked for 32 GB ECC DDR5 UDIMMs and saw that they were 102.87 + tax with coupon. 64 GB Non-ecc kits are like $160 on Amazon, so this is only ~50 bucks diff for ECC if you want 64 GB.
