Mine just arrived and I'm totally impressed. Replaced an aged Quanta LB4M and a Cisco 3560 POE. I unplugged all 48 cables from the Quanta, removed it from the rack. Slid in the Avaya, plugged everything in. Plugged in the power and held my breath. After it booted up everything came back on line including my 11 ip cams. And as a bonus, there's no password to access the web interface. And did I mention it's super quiet?

how much power consumption?
Would love to know the idle/base power consumption as that could make all the difference on affordability here. Also if it can be run with one PSU without alarms to cut down power even more.

I got one a while ago. It's quite loud (but that may be one of the fans failing) and draws around 100 W idle with no devices connected

Mine came with only one PSU and a blank in the second slot. No alarms.

Btw the firmware upgrades are a pain on this one, as Avaya doesn't provide the images unless you've purchased the switch directly from them: https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/avaya-4850gts-pwr-firmware-recovery.36227/

Here's the datasheet for the Avaya 4850GTS

max 90W idle. can use single or double power supply (impacts max PoE wattage)

Too much power for my use. My 6610 also sits unused.

Ended up going with a 16 port L2 PoE+ switch. 8W idle and pretty quiet, cant hear it over case fans.
+0.5W per ethernet device
PoE devices vary. 8W for 4x4 ac AP and 4W for 5MP camera
Removing PoE injectors reduced overall power usage.

Mine has been flawless. All ports are in use. 11 of them are powering my ip cams.
