So I have a system with the following specs.

Asus pro WS ace x570

Rysen 3900xt

128gb ecc

Supermicro AOC-SLG3-2E4T dual oculink hba

Two super micro oculink to u.2 cables

Two Intel/solidgym u.3 drives

I just installed the hba and the two drives showed in bios.

Then I installed fedora in raid 0 across the two drives. When the install finished I was prompted to reboot so I did and the drives attached to the hba had disappeared from the boot menu. I booted into fedora from live USB and the drives didn't show up with lsblk command or in gnome disks.

The mobo is running the latest bioe and will boot just fine with an Asus hyper m.2 card in the same slot as the hba is in now.

Have tried:

Clearing CMOS

Turning csm mode off and on

Rebooting multiple times

Reconnecting the oculink cables

First thing: This is not a HBA! The retimer should be pretty transparent to the bus.

Question: Do the drives still are listed as NVMe/PCIe devices in BIOS? (I do not mean in boot section!)

I guess you and the fedora installer installed the system in a way your BIOS does not recognize.

Sometimes they show sometimes they don't. I decided just to get different hardware setup but thanks anyways.

So I have a mini SAS HD port on motherboard which I was using for 4 data drives with my NAS VM, now that this issue has presented I removed the data drives and added minisashd to u.2 cable and one drive works a treat. Thanks for your help.
