How is this compared to EPYC7702P which also have 64 cores? you can get 7702P and supermicro H11SSL-i MB combo for less than $1300 nowaday. This combo still only run on DDR4 3200 but with 8 channels.

I would imagine that TR cpu are better at lower thread workload due to higher frequency but just wondering how heavily threaded stuffs would be like between these two cpus

it will get crushed in everything except maybe perf/$ (also used vs new isn't really fair either). Bandwidth on ddr5 is large improvement over ddr4, even when accounting for only 4 channels.

For most home labbers though, the 7702p is still good option, as performance benefit likely isn't needed, and pricing (comparatively) is good.
