The processor comes without the plastic bracket.
They came out of HP systems.
We never had complains about vendor locks.

You don't need it necessarily, you just need to be EXTREMELY careful not do drop the CPU or something like that.

SP3 Carrier frame broken

Hi All, Any idea where to get a replacement carrier frame SP3 (1920X threadripper) from? Bit stuck as the one I have doesn't hold the processor whilst installing

Apparently you can fill in the warranty form and they will send one.
Not sure if it still needs to be under warranty though.
