This week I received my first server equipped with 80Plus Titanium power supplies.
For those wondering they offer in terms of power savings, at 115V the load/ efficiency ratings are:
10% load 90%
20% load 92%
50% load 94%
100% load 90%
At 230v they are rated at 50% load 96% efficient.
I asked about the simple question of why and was told that with a sufficiently utilized system, over 4-5 years there is a decent ROI for going Titanium over Platinum.
Does anyone have experiences with these types of power supplies? Better yet, any experiences comparing Gold/ Platinum to Titanium in the same system?
