Should be sticky: Samsung 840 and 840 pro are not LSI megaraid compatible

There is actually another firmware that was released on 5/30/13 (23.16.0-0012). I've tried both with 23.16.0-0012 & 23.12.0-0013 (which was released on 5/7/13). I can't get the diskcache to be enabled. It's just grayed out in the WebBIOS. I even tried with Cachecade trial key hoping that it'll...

Should be sticky: Samsung 840 and 840 pro are not LSI megaraid compatible

Looks like Samsung released new firmwares for both 840 & 840 Pros and unfortunately I don't have the SSDs with me anymore. Do you think this new firmware might solve this issue? Samsung SSD | Samsung Semiconductor Global Website

    Anyone with 4 x Samsung 840 PRO's on RAID5 with LSI Card?

Are you saying that there's an issue with Samsung 840 Pro as a Cachecade device or as a RAID set with 9270? Can you benefit or does anyone use Cachecade with straight SSD drives as RAID? I can see how I might want Fastpath for all SSDs but not sure if there's any benefit with Cachecade with all...

Should be sticky: Samsung 840 and 840 pro are not LSI megaraid compatible

Ahh... I'm assuming that you were using the cables from Supermicro. What you have to do is actually push the metal part in. Otherwise it will not latch on to the connector. You will see that the metal part on the cable pushes out when you connect it to the socket so you have to manually push it...

Should be sticky: Samsung 840 and 840 pro are not LSI megaraid compatible

LSI purchased Sandforce early last year. You think this has something to do with it? I mean Samsung manufactures their own controller for the 840 drives and LSI should have no interests in supporting anything but Sandforce or degrade the others in some sense.

    Anyone with 4 x Samsung 840 PRO's on RAID5 with LSI Card?

New LSI Logic MegaRAID SAS 9285-8e with CacheCade Pro 2.0/Fastpath

I know he buys Intel, IBM and LSI controllers on eBay and enables the advanced features (software) on all of them and resells them back. I highly doubt that the license is legit but the controllers seem to be. Still a good price.
