Looks like Samsung released new firmwares for both 840 & 840 Pros and unfortunately I don't have the SSDs with me anymore. Do you think this new firmware might solve this issue?

Are you saying that there's an issue with Samsung 840 Pro as a Cachecade device or as a RAID set with 9270? Can you benefit or does anyone use Cachecade with straight SSD drives as RAID? I can see how I might want Fastpath for all SSDs but not sure if there's any benefit with Cachecade with all...
Ahh... I'm assuming that you were using the cables from Supermicro. What you have to do is actually push the metal part in. Otherwise it will not latch on to the connector. You will see that the metal part on the cable pushes out when you connect it to the socket so you have to manually push it...
LSI purchased Sandforce early last year. You think this has something to do with it? I mean Samsung manufactures their own controller for the 840 drives and LSI should have no interests in supporting anything but Sandforce or degrade the others in some sense.
I know he buys Intel, IBM and LSI controllers on eBay and enables the advanced features (software) on all of them and resells them back. I highly doubt that the license is legit but the controllers seem to be. Still a good price.
