    Workstation "on the cheap" for encoding/rendering?

    Hi all, I 'accidentally' ran into some E5 2670 CPU's on eBay that seemed to be quite cheap, so I thought of building a workstation... But I'm having second thoughts as it seems that encoding doesn't really benefit from more cores, on the other hand rendering does seem to benefit from more...
