I'm thinking that the CFI A7879 is the perfect size for me. If I can keep the fans quiet it would work well.
My idea is to use the WD Red drives. They seem to be cooler and less energy intensive. Also, 5200 rpm is quieter.
I have also come across the HFX PowerNAS case. It's very expensive...
I'm looking for something small to put under my desk and forget about. Something like this maybe?
