I can't test it because I don't own the board. It would've been interesting to know if this works before I buy it. Otherwise I'm leaning more towards the Asrockrack ROMED8-2T or the Supermicro H12 ATX, because they have more PCI Slots for SAS HBA's.

thanks for your quick reply, I didn't see a post of all possible passthrough devices could someone post it? would be great if someone could confirm that it is possible to pass the sata connectors into a VM - would like to use it for freenas

Hi guys, is it possible to passthrough those onboard sata ports ( SFF-8643 connectors) in VMWare? It would be nice if I wouldn't need additional SAS cards for that purpose. thanks in advance!
