Intel e5-2696 v2 CPU for $125 FS or cheaper

2699 is not the same as 2696, hence the different model number. I say again: Show us where you can get this CPU (2696 v3) for substantially lower price. That you don't see the value in the chip is fine. Let it go. It's not for you. Move along.

Intel e5-2696 v2 CPU for $125 FS or cheaper

Show us where you can get this CPU (2696 v3) for substantially lower price. Keep in mind most if not all eBay sellers are non-US. E5-2697 v3 is 14-core, 2696 v3 is 18-core. Passmark does not set the bench. This QS is same stepping as production silicon.

    Gigabyte R180-F34 1U Server (2011-3) $94-109 + Shipping

BIOS update to R16 OK. BMC update to 888/488 damn near bricked my system. Used USB-UART level shifter to connect to AST2400 JTAG terminal on board for 115200 baud terminal console. Got to uboot and tftpboot'ed in a BMC recovery image... reset and reboot OK but now constant IPMI and I2C IOCTL...

For those looking for rails: Contacted eBay seller and asked of any known rail availability. Response was none available but report from other buyer of compatibility with Supermicro 1U Rail Kit (CSE-PT8L). I have ordered a unit for test and will report results in about 2 weeks or less given...

    E5-2678v3 - $90

Very well and thank you for the welcome. The cool thing about my driver is that it is completely configurable and so you can further limit the increase in demand to an acceptable load. Processors are like engines. They are simple air pumps. The more air/fuel (voltage/current) you add the more...

    E5-2678v3 - $90

Not edit, remove. And even that is not a proper description. Every (Intel) processor comes with a base microcode instantiated in hardware. As the processor matures in design (and even beyond) there may be discovered necessity to make changes. These changes are incorporated by Microcode Patch...

Do E7-4650 v2 work on a Supermicro dual socket motherboard with C602J chipset?

v3 E7 are Socket 2011-1 and can make use of C602J chipset (also used for v2 Xeons). v3 E5 are Socket 2011-3 and make use of C612 chipset. Can be confusing.

    E5-2678v3 - $90

Hi, I am the author of v3x4 and perhaps can answer any questions anyone may have regarding the Xeon v3 All-Core Turbo workaround. For dual CPU configs, I would recommend C3 Enabled and C6 Disabled for maximum performance. Microcode of choice (for me) is 0x27.

    FS: Xeon E5-2696 v3 QS QGN7

No to full-coverage... CPU only blocks. Separate block for GPU. VRM can reach 85 to 90C or greater. Fans from 3x120mm shroud (push/pull) exhaust over length of MB cooling VRM (heatsinks installed by MB vendor) and memory. Using 6x Yate Loons at 1500RPM. Barely audible.

    FS: Xeon E5-2696 v3 QS QGN7

This CPU is excellent for media encoding AND gaming on the same rig. Make your system a renaissance-system and jack-of-all-trades. When gaming this CPU will peg all cores to 4GHz (with 105MHz BCLK applied) and will stay there. Only during heavy loading across ALL cores does the multi drop to...
