Seems like a pretty great deal: https://www.ebay.com/itm/145641344482

I've purchased a few 7250-48Ps over the past few years and this is the lowest I've seen yet. Check out all the information in the Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching) thread by @fohdeesha for information regarding these (along with the rest of the ICX family).

Note that unless you already have one, you'll have to make or purchase a console cable for this switch (the mini USB port is not a USB-to-Serial adapter like the USB-C ports are on newer Brocade/Ruckus switches, its just RX/TX on the USB pins).

I really don't need any more switches at the moment, otherwise I'd be jumping on this one as well.

That is incredible... I paid $250 each for 7250-24Ps not that long ago. I might upgrade, although this will create a higher noise level in my basement :)
I've paid ~$250 for 7250-48Ps in the past but they were scratched, bent, and beat up (presumably from careless decommissioning) and needed a bit of work.

The pictured switch in the listing looks great; hopefully the rest are in the same condition.

How do these compare to the 6450? I just had one of my 3 6450-48p die, and was looking for a replacement. I was trying to find something with a bit less power draw, though. According to the huge thread here on STH, they both should be pulling about 50w at idle, but I measured much closer to 100w with my units.

e: Which is kinda weird, because I checked the datasheets, and the 6450-48p is claimed to have 31w at idle and just over 50 at load. Were my units misconfigured?

Jumped on one (that I really don’t need but couldn’t resist) as well. Thanks for the tip. :)

I had a 6450-24P and then moved to a 7250-24P. Idle power was 15-20W higher for the 7250, so I'd expect the 48 port version to similarly be 20ish watts higher than the 6450-48P. 100W seems high for the 6450 at idle, even with 48 ports--do you have a bunch of POE or something? I see about 85W from the wall for my 7250-24P, but that's with 30W of POE devices.

24Ps go for more/are rarer, in the brief time I've been watching, probably homelabbers watching their electricity bill. :)

The 48P idle at 71W per Ruckus, the 24P at 48W, which is a fair bit of difference.

Yeah, I just snagged a 7250-24P to act as a backup and it was a good deal at $150. Under $100 for these switches is just a phenomenal deal.

No, that was with nothing connected except the console and one gigabit uplink. I'll be the first to admit I don't know what I'm doing with enterprise network gear, so I could have done something wrong while fumbling through the guide here. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time to settle. I did wait until the fans spun down their lowest speed before checking power. Pleasant surprise if that's the case, I will have to check it again.

in for 1; I posted in the mega-thread as well, but... If I have a 6450-48p, can I copy the config file to this and go?

$120 shipped for these switches is just such a screaming deal. They're damn near perfect for a homelab switch--just wish they were slightly less power hungry and noisy. Even saying that they're not terrible compared to similar enterprise grade switchgear, and at least with these you can opt for slightly less noisy fans without melting the ASICs.

I have the 7250-24P, i really don't need a second one but couldn't resist. Will be moving later this year and it's my mission to have solar (SDGE Southern Cali rate is $0.48 per kilawatt hour). It auto-accepted at 95.50 for me and was 120 with tax.
