Was looking into upgrading my current freeNas box from a i3-7400 to a DUAL XEONs 2660 V3.

Any suggestions?

Also wanted to look into good mobos
s2600cw2r
super micro x10dai. (price for the super micro is about Double)

What type of workload? OS ?
Budget?

It is a big leap from I3 to Dual 2660 v3?
May be AMD single CPU?

Virtualisation, Plex, Lotsa Storage added.
BTW i5 7500 (4 cores x 4 threads)
Currently using 64GB of Non ECC Ram. Want to Switch to 128GB ECC.
Na, No AMD for now!!!

Getting a super deal on the CPUs about 500 USD for both of them (brand new)

Have 4TBx8 in Z6 and 8TB x 4 in Z5. Running out of space.

Lotsa transcoding been done. Exp from my Video Shoots, All 4K, 50% is RED
