Dang. This is a good deal. I would pick up 16 for a 4 node vSAN cluster with nvme cache in each. It's either these or a Dell quad NVMe AIC. I don't suspect we'll see any good deals on pcie m.2 devices anytime soon after those pm963s sold or whatever model they were.

Anyone want to ship me some over to AUS? (They won’t ship internationally :()
You could use a USA freight forwarding service like Shipto or MyUsa or others and ship them to a USA mailbox. Only problem is if you have to return drives to USA and freight forwarders will need to unpack drives (static charge potential) to take pictures if you want goods insurance. Hopefully they are packaged in clear anti static bags. There is a thread here about freight forwarding l started in this Deals thread. Sorry l'm on mobile or l'd look it up for you.

how can you tell?
Screenshot in the ebay listing + I have the HUSMM8020 (200gb version, from another listing, seller told me that they have the isilon for sale too) and it has the same firmware version :D
and are their implications to this that would affect normal use in non-emc?
Not really.
There is at leat one older revision that won't show smart info in raid controllers or hbas. And like any oem drives you won't get firmware updates or support in any form from hgst .

Actually, I had added 8 to my cart and kept looking at the checkout button...then I said screw it.

After doing that...if the price is good enough for me to buy 8....well....

I am currently running Lightning Ascend Gen. II 400GB 12Gbps SAS SSDs in my server. They are rated for 10 DWPD. Does it mean these Hitachi drives provide higher endurance for write intensive workload? I am willing to buy these drives if they do.

Hi Dhiru,

These HGST drives are rated for 10 DWPD.

10 DWPD x 400 GB x 365 days x 5 years = 7,300,000 (7.3 PB).
