What is the cheapest server/barebone/motherboard that will support a Intel Xeon 6138F CPU?

I see that you can buy Intel Xeon 6138F ES CPU's for $150 at eBay. I already have 128GB RDIMM DDR4 ECC RAM myself. I was wondering, what is the cheapest way to complete this build? I do already have 2 Xeon v4 ES CPU's at home, but it looks like the Xeon Gold's seem an extremely good deal?

    EU Synology RX1217RP

I have already sold my Synology RS3617xs, so I have no need for my Synology RX1217RP anymore. Asking Price: €799. I'm based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, but I can ship it for €29.

    EU Supermicro 4 Node Server 6027TR-HTQRF Quad node LGA 2011 @ 720€

Is this a good deal? Power usage must be high. RDIMM DDR3 ECC is cheap fortunately. What does 4 node mean? Wait, these are 4 nodes/motherboards/etc in Supermicro SuperServer chassis? That's awesome! Power usage in idle mode, is that ok with this generation of Xeons?

Dell T430 Motherboard and Corsair power supply

Yeah, people warned me: DO NOT PUSH THAT BUTTON. But I'm starting to think a return would be the best. Dell hardware can only cause pain as opposed to e.g. Supermicro. Especially for homelabbers on a budget. I just experienced ILO on my €200 HP MicroServer Gen 8. It's amazing compared to...

Dell T430 Motherboard and Corsair power supply

I bought a new Dell T430 motherboard for $200. It was the cheapest option I found in Europe for a dual 2011-3 solution. I have a Corsair power supply, but I couldn't connect it, because it has 2x10 pins instead of 2x9. It does fit like this: I am wondering if I should return it to the...

    ES Xeon Discussion

Why do you use these 4 letter codes like QEYN? GA-X99-SLI (rev. 1.0) | Motherboard | GIGABYTE is just a list of all supported CPU's from socket 2011-3, so I guess all CPU's. Gigabyte would never publicize which ES you can use, right? QEYN (Intel Xeon 2.2 GHz) at least shows the clock speed is...

My concern would be microcode that would interpret CREATE file as DELETE file, so data loss. It's homelab, but I'd be nice to have an estimate of how much you can trust it.

I appreciate that! You would run FreeNAS safely on a server with a QS CPU, but not with a ES2 CPU, right? I might use a real Intel CPU for FreeNAS via Vmware passthrough and the ES2 CPU's for some other virtual machines.

It doesn't work with legit Xeon CPU's, err, I'll try again in a bit and else I'll RMA it. It's a new board, never worked, but good to know that this set-up should work fine.

I'm hitting issues with my DeLuxe II (Consumer X99, LGA 2011 v3) and with my Z10-PE-D16. The only stable systems are the Supermicro's. Fortunately I do have 2x 2620 v4 for a low price, but I'd like to scale above motherboards up. The Asus Z10-PE-D16's second socket doesn't even work with my...

    Kingston UV400 120GB SSD $17.99 Unrealistic

Actually. I got 3 separate drives. LPT: People from the EU that live in the Netherlands. Create 3 separate orders to avoid dooty problems. I had to pay a lot, because I bought 7 dell disk caddies. This could've been avoided if I kept my orders under €22. He offered free shipping. I paid €40...
