I realize this is old thread but has anyone successfully added a second drive to their T730 by using a A+E to B+M adapter with a NVMe M.2 SSD in the wifi slot? Or something else?
I'd like to modify my pfsense setup to run on a ZFS mirror instead of the single drive ZFS it is currently on...
I've been looking for one of these too and no one seems to make one with a suitable sized PCIe switch that I've been able to find.
It's beginning to look like I will have to buy the much more expensive X710-T4L if I want full performance at 2.5G.
The Wyse is on my list of candidates for when I need to move up to 2.5G NICs. Does it support PCIe bifurcation or would I need to buy a NIC with an on-board PCIe switch?
I have a pair of those and was able to reach 2+Gbps in iperf3 as an experiment with a direct connection between two PCs, neither being the T730 though. It might have been Linux at one end and Windows at the other end though it's been a while since I did it.
True.
I have the same quandary coming up. It's just that the long term reliability (and possibly security updates for the BIOS) from the big name brands is better.
