currently my approach is to go single disk and no RAID and have incremental backup and maintenance plans to replace disks before they fail
this is simpler to manage than RAID and cheaper also, so adding simpler plus cheaper is tough to ignore
the high end of 40K IOPS and 1500 MB/s is what am going with which is why am trying to use NVMe
