    SX6036 still useful in 2024?

I have a US-16XG as a backbone to my home data center, but I am always try to push the envelope of ensuring I'm not bottlenecked. I have two connections to my OPNsense router that does all my firewall/routing capabilities. Prices seemed to come down, but I wonder if they are down to the point of...

Speed is based on the Dimms you install. Should be able to go up to 3200 (1600MHz DDR).

    AMD EPYC 7302p+ Supermicro H11SSL-i version 2

Wondering if it's even worth replacing my dual socket E5-2643 v4 with a single socket 7402. Only benefit would be getting the option of DDR4 3200, and the hope of lower power usage. but is it worth it to drop 2 grand on?

    AMD EPYC 7302p+ Supermicro H11SSL-i version 2

according to their website it does, I just have no experience with tyan boards. Extra PCIE lanes are more beneficial to me, so I would still go H12.

    AMD EPYC 7302p+ Supermicro H11SSL-i version 2

if it were me, I’d go H12 Supermicro to get access to Milan-x as a possible upgrade down the line. NVMe ports look good if you have the chassis for it with the Tyan.

FYI: ixSystems removes dual port sas functionality from Scale

If you stick to TrueNAS Core, you're able to use it still. However, if you want the kubernetes/Container support and Qemu style virtual machines, Scale and the lack of dual port SAS is what you're left with.

FYI: ixSystems removes dual port sas functionality from Scale

Just as a heads up. I bought a 9305-16e to be able to have 2x 3008 controllers and dual controller HPE StoreServ 8000 SSD shelf. After having difficulties getting it installed, I have it showing up in my system now. I thought that iX didn't have the multipathing ported over so I made a ticket in...

    AMD EPYC 7302p+ Supermicro H11SSL-i version 2

If you are planning on adding NVMe JBODs, you have to go 9500. 9400 only doesn NVMe internally. If it's just SAS3 JBOD's, save money and go 9305w-16e.
