Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure this is not the issue. I removed the m.2 and still only see 7 drives still, and i am confident it's in pcie mode based on the settings and jumpers. all I can guess now is PSU issue, but all the drives spin up. So not sure why this would be the case.
