    This is one of the more recent threads with a successful cross flash, it looks like they removed allow_psid_change in the more recent versions of MFT...or am I missing something? Any tips?

    Get started on that box for sure, don't let the gear hold you back from experimenting. Just be aware you'll out grow it fairly quick. Could be a really robust pfSense box in the future (if you want to go bare metal, which is how I roll) If you're looking for a hyper-converged setup...

    DAC pricing varies wildly based on capability, ie you don’t need a 100GbE capable cable for your 10GbE NICs. My go to is to use the OEM reference table so I know what the supported OEM versions are, you can often find these at decent pricing on eBay...but good luck finding them without a part...
