I flat out get an error now for any image. Even small ones. I think I hit some forum user space limit or something (I've been posting max-size pics for years and years like this).

I was looking at that .. The tabs are similar to my Chenbro NR12000. I already measured though and the locations are different. However... The holes do seem to like up. I have a set of rails in storage I was going to try to dig up. Mixed in with like a dozen others, it may take me a bit...

@Patrick I am getting some kind of Site Error message when trying to post any more pics. I think I hit some kind of limit? Even new posts, I get the error (it's a modal popup that says Something went wrong and to contact the site administrator).

For you Windows users, there's a sliver of hope for a TPM module. I have yet to boot my machine so perhaps others could chime in on rather it's working. I would assume so, since it's kind of a requirement now for Windows. PS: If someone needs a TPM module, let me know. I have no use for...

M.2 22110 -> 2280 If you want to use an 2280 M.2 drive, you'll have to remove the motherboard to move the plastic clip hold down. A pair of needle-nose pliers easily does the trick. Pulling up will break the tabs.

The Motherboard has to be the easiest motherboard I have ever removed. Two built-in screw retainers, and it slides out. Take note of the proprietary holes and sliding mounting system. Quite possibly the best setup I've ever used. However, there are no ATX standoffs here and no hold...

Ok, got my server and initial teardown and "oooo, ahhhhs" done with the kids. I'm going to post things in random order. However, I'll try to stick to 1 topic per post - to give a chance to reply about a specific topic. First up we have the OCP ports, as this most interested me. Officially...

What Epyc hardware equals Threadripper 2 Generation?

Just to follow up on this post... I've ended up scrapping all of my Supermicro mobos for: AsRock Rack EPYCD8T, ThreadRipper 2 2950X + PBO + XTR thingy, 256GB (8x32GB) ECC UDIMM @ 3200Mhz CAS 20 (Auto SPD picked up 3200mhz!), Supermicro SC846 chassis with loud fans, has PBO boosting to 4.0/3.9...

    HGST Ultrastar He10 - 10TB @ $129.95

All 10 drives I received were manufactured Dec 23rd, 2017 (yep, all in the same batch!). One of the drives is DOA. It's so dead, that when I plugged it in, it killed my LSI 3008 HBA - to where only a complete power off and pulling the power cord got it working again. I've never seen such a...

[WTB] Intel Xeon Bronze 3106 or cheap CPUs for ~$100

I picked up a 3106 for $75 and need another one. Considering the Gold 6136F 12 core is $150, I can't see paying $130-$140 for another 3106. But then again, two 6136F would set me back $300 and I'll have a left over cheap part no one wants. If anyone has an 3106, or a pair of inexpensive...

Oh crap, the listing says "Internal SAS Ports!". That was on my To Do list to get to the bottom of those connectors. As an alternative, there are LSI OCP 2.0 controllers. I have some 40 GbE QSFP OCP 2.0 cards coming as well. It will allow me to test multiple OCP cards, PCIe limitations, etc...

Noice. The pushing config part stuff in the first pic... Are you flashing firmware? Or, changing in bios? (As that would push changes)

These STH reviews of Tiny PCs hasn't coaxed me to go mini. Nope, uh uh. Not until I go off the grid or something, at which keeping 240 TB online would be a bit difficult. Even still, I never liked Embedded CPUs ... However, Windell just posted a review of this thing - right when I was...
