I have a VIOP device and some network intrusion monitoring software and they don't play well together. When the network monitor is running it takes the VIOP device off line in a matter of minutes. All the software does is send out pings to the entire subnet 10 at a time. every minute. I have contacted support for the device and they told me to place it on a different network. So is this a job for a VLAN? I have a DD-WRT router and a Dell 2724 but I am completely ignorant of anything beyond hitting the power button on my PC. So any advice at all would be much appreciated!
