    Any way to achieve this?
I think zfs send and receive should work...
But can I automate the snapshot send?
I want to to be able to do HDD spin down on backup server as its not used except backups..So far it looks like only Freenas can do this.
Or should I use Nappit with ZOL?

    I have resolved this...
I understood power management comments wrong...Seems like Omni OS supports HDD spindown..
But not the oracle solaris 11..
