interesting take, it may be a decent solution for those that don't have the ability to have inhouse large storage array/s. The con is network connection, and everything that comes with that.

I could see a potential use case for the lowest stage in a data storage tiering system. Ie: Store rarely accessed data in S3 without the need to adopt the data management software.
Otherwise, the network connection is the obvious choke point here as CyklonDX mentions.

Very interesting indeed. I might actually give this a shot as the final offsite backup location. But...

They're running ZFS....on block storage...in the cloud...:eek:

The ZFS and "requires bare disk access" crowd are going to have a heart attack!
