Xeon E5 1620/2630L - local Toronto area users

Was just talking on the phone to the ppl at DNC Systems here in Toronto and they are willing to sell used Xeon E5 1620 for 125$CND and 2630L for 190$CND

They are suppose to have a number of each currently available in stock. Considering how our dollar is these days a decent deal for those of us around here to get E5 cpus

They are located just off Sheppard up near downsview park.

I could use one or two of those for sure for that price. Any way you think they'd ship to the US?

no clue. I know their website is showing 270$CND for the 2630L, it was only when i called them that i was given a lower price

The e5-1620 would go nicely with that cheap Tyan motherboard that was posted up a while back for a nice little NAS box.

I am planing on picking up one of the 2630l chips tomorrow to pair with a supermicro x9srl-f for a vm's, pfsense and replacement for my current windows home server which is getting up in age

Just picked up my 2630l from the shop. Note that there is no sign for the store just the address on the front door. Would also recommend bringing cash for an even better deal

It is a C2 stepping chip

He was also saying he would be willing to do 170$CND if buying 5+ chips

He has also said that he was occasionally posting them to eBay. Found a link to one of his auctions and he had them posted at 185$CND each with free shipping to the US which works out to around 140$US. He does not currently have any listings up but might be worth watching. For any further listings. doesnotrecompute | eBay

Also looks like there is a second seller for them on eBay eBay

No problem. Just figure I might as well pass along the few that I find

I follow a few electronic resellers in the Toronto area on eBay so every so often they have deals that pop up
