@RolloZ170 Mind helping me out for a moment? Would be awesome.
Looks like I just bought the very last three EPC621D8A available in Europe for a side project. Also bought two 8259CL from
@tesla100 with a third in progress. Now I have a slight problem: Selecting RAM.
Wikipedia says the 8259CL IMC supports DDR4-2666 maximum. True?
For expense and latency reasons, and to use all 6 channels, I am looking at 32 GB RDIMMs for the boards. So just buy a bunch of M393A4K40CB2-CTD from anywhere and be done with it?
What happens if I buy -2933 CL21 or -3200 CL22, because same price or whatever? Where will the IMC get its info about a -2666 CL19 profile from, which the CPU supports max? SPD? Does Samsung have that in SPD or would Kingston be a safer choice? Or will that have to be an option in BIOS to manually specify RAM clock parameters? Or will machine just guess and set a suboptimal -2666 CL22?
Highly appreciate your expertise. Thanks!
