yeah, extra wide due to the DIMM slots:Wow that thing is large at EE-ATX
I would say yes because the connectors are more standard, has more DIMMs, and has IPMI. Only place I think the S2600 wins out is in the expansion slot department. Is it better than intel s2600 series?
What is considered a good deal now the E5-2670 era has departed?now if only i could find a good deal on v2 CPUs....
i don't know in general, or what "cheap" means to you, but I believe it should work in Supermicro 216, 825, 846 cases. What cheap rack mount case can I use for this board?
I'd really like to find a E5-2660/2670/2680 v2 in the under $100 range. I see the E5-2660v2 coming close to $100 these days, but I notice a lot of CA ebay sellers keep trying to push the price back up after the individual/non-business sellers are no longer listed. I've been tracking it weekly for the last 6 months... wishing the TX or East cost sellers had some stock in those CPUs... they tend to be more willing to negotiate, at least in my experience. What is considered a good deal now the E5-2670 era has departed?
what's the issue with the intel boards in PCI-E 3?with the supermicro you wont have the issues with pcie3 that all the intel boards have.
i have on of these boards in 826A, for the B i think its too wide.
wrong chassis. there are two variants of the 825. that one is made for the "U" (e.g., X8DTU-F) boards that use a 2U riser and allow for full profile PCI cards. you'll need to find the 825 with the "LP", which has 7x low profile PCI slots.SUPERMICRO 2U SERVER CHASSIS 825TQ-R720UB DUAL 700W P/S SAS825TQ 8x TRAYS | eBay
