Well this is all very confusing. Uhhhhhh. Will this stuff work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139271

I'm looking for more than 16 GB in the future and since I only have 4 DIMM slots I need to go with 8 GB sticks.
I'm curious about this set as well. I was debating ordering 2 of these or (4) singles.

Also, does anyone know the difference between the KVR1333D3D4R9S/8G and KVR1333D3D4R9S/8GI?

May have answered my own question. If I'm reading the site and white papers correctly, the "I" stands for Intel Certified. "Customers ordering the ValueRAM "I" part are assured of receiving the same part posted on Intel's memory validation list and also will receive the full benefit of Intel and Kingston's technical support. A gentle kick up on this older thread as I too have a question on the same topic. On this board I currently have 2 x Kingston ValueRAM 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 ECC Reg CL9 DIMM DR x8 w/TS VLP (KVR1333D3D8R9SL/4G)

With that, I'd like to add these: 2x 8 GB Hynix HMT31GR7BFR4C-H9

•Specifications:
•HYNIX HMT31GR7BFR4C-H9
•DDR3 SDRAM PC3-10600
•CL=9
•ECC Registered
•DDR3-1333MHz
•1.5V
• x 72
•8 Bank
•240 pins
•Refresh 8K
•Number of DRAMS: x 36

http://www.hynix.com/inc/pdfDownloa...e/ds_2Gb_DDR3(B-ver)based_RDIMMs(Rev.1.0).pdf

All 4 of them will be dual ranked but will this board support the HMT31GR7BFR4C-H9?

Have you been able to test those HYnix modules? They are x4 so it should not work as X8SIL-F has this requirement for x8 modules.
I am find in the same position as you - have the same mobo and same 2 x 4GB KVR1333D3D8R9S/4G (which are x8 modules) and willing to upgrade to 24 GB but I am not so sure if another 2x8GB x8 dual rank will work; I even talked with supermicro support - they said technically it should work but they cannot give any guarantee; that says it all doesn't it :)
