Hi,
Patrick - I attempted to reflash my X8SI6-F's SAS controller with the IT firmware and found the limitation of the new version of sas2flsh.exe. I followed a commenter's command line and used the -e 7 parameter to erase the flash. This also erased the WWN from the controller.
I wrote the number down from the sticker above the SFF connectors on the board and used the sas2flsh.exe -sasadd to reprogram the address. (Otherwise I was getting SAS address NOT programmed on controller boot.)
I did not save the NVRAM before I reflashed. Is there anything else I wiped out? The controller seems to function fine and the zfs pool came back up running under Nexenta Core.
I should have clicked the link you pointed to where I saw LSI used the -e 6 parameter. Maybe that would have saved me the trouble of having to reprogram the WWN?
Thanks.
