Has anyone found memory that works on this board that isn't on there supported list?

Or is it that picky?

you need RDIMM (but some 1st Gen skylake still support UDIMM ECC)
some RAM is not supported because processor doesn't support:
e.g. 16Gb DRAM density only with 2nd gen's.
stay away from cheap (old worn out) LRDIMM

I just have a Xeon Silver 4114.

i have tried these models, both have supermicro on them.

No matter what i do it fails. maybe its the board.
i have another supermicro board that is happy with hp memory.

both supported by 4114. do you get any POST code ?
even without RAM you get display.

maybe you first time LGA3647 ? many are not brave enough to turn cooler screws 3&4 to the end...

So i removed the board, tried another one i have. that booted fine with hp memory. then put the original back in and that boots as well lol.

hp does not build own memory. it is just mostly micro/hynix oem not available as retail for end customers....
