Did you flash through IPMI or UEFI? I did IPMI and it’s stuck with a B1 code when booting. IPMI says it’s still 2.1 but it won’t go past the splash screen. Sorry for not answering directly but 3.0c is giving me headaches

I downloaded the file put on usb stick.
rebooted in uefi
and executed the flash.
it went ok
it told me that it will reboot due to the ME stuff

but after that I had constant reboots after 1 sekond or so.
so I set the ME jumper (JPME2) to 2-3
and it booted normally, I went to UEFI and the flash process was continued and at some point it wrote
cpu 80000037 (just guessing the number not sure, but it was one like this) not supported.
I can check this after work at home.

Would be nice if someone had the 3.0a bios to share

Hmmm...I tried getting into UEFI but it was stuck on PEI-CPU Initialization with POST code B1, which won't even let me into the BIOS. Tried putting the JPME2 jumpers onto 2-3, but still stuck on the same spot. I can get into IPMI remotely, and hope that I can reflash with 2.1 or 3.0a firmware. Any luck finding those two files? My server has been dead due to this :(

in BIOS 3.0 there are only the following microcodes included(cpuid)
50654(skylake-sp)
50655(cascade lake-sp)
50656(cascade lake-sp B0 stepping)
50657(cascade lake-sp B1 stepping)

you have to mod bios first if u using skylake-sp ES2 (50652)
if you have no issues there is no reason to update to 3.xx

Just in case anyone was having the same problem as I did... This thread ended up saving me!
So I bought a new Supermicro X11DPH-I and a cheap ES CPU just to test the board. However the motherboard came with bios v3.0c which didn't detect the CPU. It would hang on POST with a message saying "PEI -- CPU initialization B1".

Here is how I fixed it:

Downgrade the bios to 2.1 provided in this thread link by romanstingler. (Motherboards X11DPH-I , X11DPH-T and possibly X11DPH-TQ share the same bios file)
In other to downgrade the bios version, without having a working booting motherboard (I didn't had any other CPU), I went to wiredzone website and purchased a Supermicro Out of Band Firmware Management License (25$). I couldn't find it for sale directly in supermicro web site...
With the OOB license installed it is possible to downgrade the bios with the board powered down (only IMPI running).

It now boots fine, and later when I purchase a better non ES CPU I can upgrade the bios to a more recent version.

So i can safely flash 2.1 to X11DPH-i? I have two Golds 6148 ES (20C/40T, 2,4-3,5 GHz, all cores on turbo can do 2,8 or 2,9). Currently using these:

Firmware Revision : 01.55
Firmware Build Time : 08/21/2018
BIOS Version: 2.0
BIOS Build Time: 11/30/2017
Redfish Version : 1.0.1
CPLD Version: 02.b6.01

sure. but if you don't need 2.1 bios, don't update.

I'm thinking about update because i can't use Hyper-V. If i enable this in Windows, next boot it will hang. (This also happening if i change addon ROM loading option from UEFI method to legacy). But it seems my problem lies somewhere else.

read here to find out if your OS supports Hyper-V

Windows 10 tip: Find out if your PC can run Hyper-V | ZDNet

maybe your cpu QLNS ? is not error free in VM support.
in that case nothing will help, there are usualy no further microcode updates from intel.

X11DPH-i/Xeon QLNS/Windows 10 for Workstations. msinfo32 says "yes" on everything.
Maybe ES processors have some bugs...anyway, i switched to VMWare, working perfectly.
And maybe someone will mod 3.0 bios release, then i'll try. (I would do it myself, but i don't
have spare mainboard, these LGA3647 Supermicros are expensive and hard to get in Estonia).

Everything except than Hyper-V is working like a charm. Even my fav. games.

Can someone send me a copy of the modded bios for the X11DPH motherboard?
I tried flashing 2.0 bios. 2.1 bios. They all flashed fine but I am still not able to post. PEI INITIALIZATION Code 32.

With the latest bios, I get PEI Initialization B1
Specs:
X11DPH-T
2 P-8136 28 cores 56 Threads
1 stick of RAM On each for testing . 4GB 2133MHZ ECC DDR4

have you try'ed remove the battery to clear the cmos ?
Have you used just ECC RAM ? it need registered/buffered RAM(RDIMM)
