I agree especially if you didn't have the matching chassis(s) already to maximize the PCI-E slots.

1U chassis:
Two riser cards (RSC-R1UW-2E16-O-P and RSC-R1UW-E8R-O-P) located can support two PCIe x16 cards and one PCIe x8 card, respectively.
2U chassis:
Two riser cards (RSC-R2UW-4E8-O-P and RSC-R2UW-E8R-O-P) provided in the server can support four PCIe x8 cards and one PCIe x8 card
I got that from the associated user manuals below:

For the x32 slot: RSC-R1UW-2E16. It's 2x16. Together with the x8 slot, this MB gives you the full 40 pcie lanes on E5 v3/v4.

This is SM's proprietary UP WIO form factor, which is 8.15" x 13.05" and meant for the following 1u and 2u chassis (certified):

1U Chassis: SC815TQ, SC113TQ, SC116AC, SC514 and SC116TQ.

2U Chassis: SC213A, SC826BA, SC825TQ.

Of course you can put them in any case that can accommodate the MB's size [for example the cases that the X10SLH-LN6TF are sold in or the 1U Hyve Zeus E5-v1/v2 and E5-v3/4 chassis (all three have been previously posted in great deals)]. However, the issue will be punching out for pcie brackets if they don't accommodate all 3 full height slots.

Again, this is $60 using OBO:

Yup on the OBO. I would go lower though as they didn't even counter the $60.
Dang. I need to rethink how I search. That's the second time I've seen this seller accept ~half or less on a BO.

I'd just bought a different LGA 2011 board from someone else the night before to replace a dead board in a home backup box, and paid a lot more than $60 even with some OBO haggling. And the starting ask on that one was a lot less. I hadn't thought to look at prices that high and BOing that low. I will now, at least for that seller.

For folks that can do with 10 SATA (me in this case) and don't need any expansion slots (me again), the form factor isn't much of an issue if the case is deep enough.

Wait until you want to add NVME or more drives, etc, with EVERYTHING that system could offer is limited by lack of PCIE Lanes.
To me when you're building a E5 V3 system saving $100 on a motherboard is kind of silly if it extremely limits what you can do.
