X10SDV (mini & flex Atx), PCIe x4x4 bifurcation?

Hi all, I might be interested in using this dual M.2 adaptor paired with a Xeon D board. However it requires bifurcation support, x4x4x4x4 (or x4x4x8) for the Mini-ITX or x4x4 for the Flex-ATX. The adaptor is listed as tested for the Flex-ATX (with an obscure "requires BIOS support", which doesn't clarify whether it's there or not) despite no mention of bifurcation in the User Manual, while it is not listed at all for the Mini-ITX (and the User Manual only mentions x8x8 bifurcation).
However it seems here that such setting for slot 7 is actually present, probably with a later BIOS: can anybody owning either board confirm this?

Thank you, much appreciated!

Does this apply to the X10SDV-7TP4F? I might need to use bifurcation for NVMe SSDs. Building a decent NAS with this system (I hope Flex ATX does not pose problems).

My x10sdv 2core system has an option in bios* for pcie bifurcation, you can use each of the two x8 slots as x4x4

*You will need bios v1.2 or newer for bifurcation

Thanks! Now I just need to figure out where I can get a X10SDV-7TP4F (8 core) shipped to CA while I'm visiting there. The sales tax is pretty awful though, makes it as expensive as Europe. Not sure what retailers have it, Newegg has one seller offering it from San Jose.

Hm, got the board months ago. What are the options for risers to leverage bifurcation?

My 7TP4F is not actually cooperating with bifurcation, despite enabling it in BIOS. I use the dual M.2 Supermicro adapter board, too.

Resuscitating this thread, I still have issues getting bifurcation to work with the latest BIOS.

this Add-on Card AOC-SLG3-2M2 is officialy supported by X10SDV-7TP4F

PCIe3.0 x8 low-profile card
Supports up to two M.2 NVMe SSDs
Adjustable stand-off supporting multiple M.2 lengths: 110mm, 80mm, 60mm
Requires motherboard BIOS support

normaly you don't have to set any Bifurcation in the BIOS because this card supports auto bifurc.
there is also a setting in the BIOS for the firmware, don't set to vendor firmware, use AMI native.

if you have issues you can a case at supermicro with the motherboards-serial-number.

and is auto bif. not work try the x4x4 option. try to disable the OPROM for the used PCIe Slot. good luck.

Thank you, @RolloZ170. I was about to head over and verify the P3520 is properly powered (cable did not disconnect) and connected (M.2 to U.2 did not disengage, I connected the cable adapter to the AOC card).

Are you suggesting I should disable the EFI/BIOS firmware for the AOC card in the options? It's in slot 8 and I manually set bifurcation. Slot 7 has a SAS3 HBA.

there is no PCIe Slot 8 on the X10SDV-7TP4F. only Slot 6 and Slot 7.
if auto bif. not works check the OPROM options for the Slots. wh ynot ask supermicro for exact required settings ?

Confirmed it was an ill fitted connector, it moved during racking... the M.2 to U.2 adapter cables are finicky. BTW, works with OPROM left as EFI.

Sorry to necro this, I am running into the same issue with x10sdv-7tp4f, aoc-slg3-2m2 sees only one drive (random which one, but usually the first one; tried multiple drives, different brands). Happens in both of the x8 slots. Card is not faulty, I have two and they both exhibit the same behavior. Tried with bifurcation enabled (x4x4) and without. With OPROM disabled (and with uefi/legacy). Running latest bios 2.3. Did anyone actually manage to get it working? I know it's "supposed" to work, but does it?

Heya! Yeah I am guessing it's smbus related; but I don't know which jumpers I need to move and to which settings, the manual says to get in touch with SM, but they are not replying :( Yeah tried samsung (970 evos), sx8200, crucial p3/p5, seems like it doesn't matter at all - they all show up, but only a single drive at a time and also randomly.

are they in default position ?
BIOS have you selected the NVMe Firmware source to "AMI native" (not Vendor defined) ??
