Hi,
following up from my problem description in the Xeon ES thread.

I have a X10DRi-T4+ currently with Bios 2.0.
I have two different Xeon E5 ES CPUs,
2695v3 (Stepping 2)
2630Lv4 (Stepping 0)
Neither of them is detected in the T4 board.

On my other SM board X10SRI, Bios 2.0, both CPUs work fine.

So.
1. Any idea what the issue with this particular Board might be?
2. Does anyone have an -T4 in use with ES CPU's?
3. Is it possible to downgrade the Bios on a SM board?
4. Where can i find an older version ? I have one for a X10DRC, those might work - confirmation possible?

Thanks:)

Little update, still trying to fix this:
-Got the IPMI Bios key and downgraded to 1.0c (via the DRC bios)
-Board still could not power on so it didn't take it (IPMI still showing 2.0).
Not sure this implies that the CPU will not work in 1.0c either though.

Will be adding a v3 cpu next and retry ;)

I was watching this thread closely because I have plans to do something very similar to you and this was rather upsetting news to see.

Good to see that the board looks like a dud and not your processors.

For completeness - the Board turned out to be defective, unfortunately due to some mechanical damage (minor stuff) they requested payment for exchanging it. But at least on 25% of a new board price.
Replacement board had a com port transport damage which i didn't attribute to the carrier in time unfortunately - so back to SM and we will see what they say.
But I ran the board with both CPUs before sending it back - no issues whatsoever (only with memory but thats another story).
