This is an EE-ATX board. Will this fit into a Rosewill RSV-L4500 4U chassis?

Looks like it won't fit a Norco RPC-4224 as well.
I was hoping to use it in a chassis which doesn't sound like a jet engine.

Great value for an X10 dual CPU motherboard with 4 10G ports...

Which Xeon v3 or v4 processors are a good value for these boards? Price/performance of E5-2670 v1's seems difficult to find on v3 or v4 CPUs (assuming power consumption per core is not an issue).

It fit in a 836:)
@TechTrend depends quite a bit on your requirements - ran Dual 2695v3's on it - very nice but way too much for me.
@forroden - I have checked a few of these out and *most* I found which were said to be Retail were in fact some ES level which was only visible on the CPU-Z info, nowhere in the auction.

It will fit a SC218 and 846 no problem, BUT remember there are variations of those so there might be some odd balls they do not fit.

@forroden Thanks. If you find E5-2683 v3s (non ES/QS) at reasonable prices, please post a new thread.

@Rand__ Thanks. E5-2695 v3's are certainly offer significantly higher performance over the E5-2670 v1's, but at a significantly higher cost. For low to medium density hypervisors, a 10 to 12 core, <=120w Xeon E5 below $250 would be a good step up from the E5-2670 v1's.

As AWS, Google Cloud and Azure move to Skylake we should see good values in Haswell (v3) processors.

Non-ES/QS V3 are not exactly dirt cheap like the 2670s everyone got were... lol I wish :) Even ES are $300+ for good chips still.

EE-ATX will mount in the RSV-L5400 however it will overhang by about 1.5". Just put a piece of hard foam there and made your own mounting post.

The power supply won't fit back vertically, you'll need to mount the PSU horizontally at the top. It overhangs memory bank and about 1/4 of the CPU. Intel CPU tower cooler has an offset so and will work.

@zeynel Thanks. E5-2673 v3 is a good choice with 12 cores 2.4GHz and 105W. Non ES/QS parts are listed at $475. Probably they go for around $350 to $400.

The E5-2673 v3 is used on Microsoft Azure. There should be good values available (sub-$200?) as Microsoft follows Google Cloud on the move to Skylake.
