I bought a SuperMicro X10DRH-CT and all works fine.

But it come with password in Bios and IPMI.
I was able to reset the IPMI password using ipmitool

For the Bios password, i tried to clear the CMOS by using the JBT1 shortcut with a screwdriver but with no luck...

Have you a best way to do a password reset ?

As in addition, the boot logo show "Barracuda" with a Logo.
At the starting point, i was not really aware about that.

But now, i do research, and found that is the logo found on this site : Barracuda Networks
That seems it's a customized bios to integrate the logo of the company where the card was prior used.

So, i'm really tempted to flash the bios but:
- I don't like to do that with all risks that may implies
- I used ES CPUs and show somewhere that upgrading bios maybe be an issue for ES support

I didn't find older bios download on SuperMicro BIOS.
I found only the latest 3.1a version !

What is your experience about 3.1a version on X10 boards using CPU ES ?

I have to choice over:
- let it as is but i can't do any modification inside the bios
- trying to flash it.

Best regards,
Sébastien.

So, i tried to flash bios from UEFI but the F11 boot option was also locked by a password...

Last attempts was to flash the bios through IPMI but:

I had to reset IPMI password using this documentation : IPMI & IPMITOOL Cheat sheet - Knowledgebase - tzulo, inc.

And activate an IPMI licence and do the bios update. (
Reverse Engineering Supermicro IPMI – peterkleissner.com was very helpful)

With theses both helps, i was able to reset all paswords (bios+ipmi) !!!

I can go to the BIOS but i can't boot from my OS or from Virtual CD... I have a blink cursor without doing anything.

I think it's the bios version incompatible with ES CPU but i haven't older bios image !!
Anyone know how to donwload or obtain older bios image ?

It's annoying...

Best regards
Sébastien

Glad you got it sorted out. Sounds like it was quite an ordeal.

I also have the same problem. The code that can specifically explain how to solve the problem is also the BIOS download address.
