I was totally astonished/overjoyed just now when I was updating a X10SRL-F to the latest Bios ... SM silently added bifurcation support for non Xeon-D x10 boards... - just had to share :)

I am confused, how can the bios show x4x4x4x4 bifurcation when the motherboard you specified apparently does not have a full 16 lane slot? From the Supermicro product brief and manual it looks like this motherboard only supports max 8 lanes per slot.

Not sure on this specific board but on some SM boards they have 2 - x4 in x8 slots. You can configure one of the slots as x8 and the other as x0. or both as x4

Crazy, as they didn't give a crap about supporting bifurcation on my X10DRL-CT. Actually one of the last things that moved me away from Supermicro. :(

You may want to test that again with an updated BIOS, while it is not the exact same platform, I just confirmed that 4 pm953 disks to work in an X10DRi motherboard, via an Asus Hyper M.2 X16 v2 card.

Hello @Raice o/

For the X10SRL-F the user manual states that slots 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 support bifurcation on page 77 section 4-11.

For the X10DRi the User Manual states that 3 ports are configurable in BIOS section IIO0 ( page 78 , 4-8) and a further 3 in IIO1 ( page 82 , 4-12). The slot numbers are not explicitly stated as far as I can see. IIO0 is likely referring to CPU1 and IIO1 to CPU2. The board has only 6 slots so that would mean all of them are configurable. CPU1 is connected to Slots 1, 2, 3 and CPU2 to slots 4, 5, 6 .

Good luck and best regards

Thank you! Also, do you know anything about X10DRX? I read the manual, but can't get if it supports bifurcation an all slots or only on 6

Hello @Raice

Looking online I found this webpage from the SuperMicro support forums

From there you can see that the Slots are grouped into ports. I can see that they are all in a port grouping so that would indicate that all slots are configurable. Actually all apart from Slot 11. This is a PCIe 2.0 x 4. The Manual shows the Block diagram on page 18, 1-10 . This shows Slot 11 as coming from the DMI port.

All of the other slots seem to be configurable in convenient ports. On page 80, 4-10 there are details of the PCIe configuration

Good luck and best regards

Sorry to rehash an old thread. I have the x10dri-t with the aoc-slg3-2m2 card. I can only get my OS (unraid) to see one drive. I followed the bios instructions about changing to x4x4x4x4. Maybe I adjusted the wrong slot?? I'm not clear from the MB diagram which slots are for IIO0 and IIO1. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if the X10SLL-F has gained bifurcation support at some point?
I've updated to the latest 3.08 bios but there are no settings for either IOUO or bifurcation to be found.

Intel LGA115x CPUs are only capable of x8/x8 and x8/x4/x4, so you can forget about x4/x4/x4/x4. You may be able to hack the settings to bifurcate the second x8 slot, however.
