So I bought 8 of these:
Toshiba PX03SNF080 800GB 12GBIT s SAS Enterprise Solid State Drive SSD New | eBay

Turns out they're HP-branded drives. Not sure if it's going to be any issue at all with the R530's I'm getting but I figured I'd see if anyone here had 8x S3700's or similar that are Dell branded or straight retail that they'd be interested in trading. If anyone's got experience using these drives or other similar HP branded drives in Dell servers, I'd like to hear the thoughts. Thanks!

Not in Dell servers but I can tell you that the one I had for review has been in Supermicro, ASUS, Gigabyte, Lenovo and ASRock servers without issue.

Thanks for the feedback! Going to try them and see how they do.
Unless super write heavy, I like these better than the S3700. 800GB/ day / 5yrs is still a lot of writes on the Toshiba drives especially since they are not much more than a 400GB S3700.

I found that you can get lifetime writes read by HDSentinel 4.6 Pro where many other tools didn't seem to tell this. Not sure if it's just these HP drives or all of them but that's pretty nice!

I use that all the time. These Toshiba drives seemed new.

The 1.6tb Toshiba's from the same seller were pretty much brand new too. I think this is a quality seller moving near-new drives.

Gotcha, 8 would be a bit excessive for me at this point :)

@coolrunnings82 you got these on the great deals ebay deal right? If that is what you paid, I'd say you'd be foolish to sell for S3700's. If you OP'd these to 600GB I'd bet your write endurance would vastly surpass the S3700 400GB's figures in PBW. Dual port SAS for HA if you'd ever want to try that.

It's supposed to work on the H330. Just tested with 400GB at work today on a R630. I don't have the H730/H730P to test it out, but if Dell didn't drive lock in their controller firmware, all should work. I used HP drives on about all controllers beside the H730/H730P, and it always worked. (SAS HD, SAS SSD, SATA HD, SATA SSD were all tested)
