I put US/UK because I'm in the UK but can get mail from the US through APO.
I'm upgrading my home server, currently have an ASROCK Rack and a Ryzen 3800X in a CSE-846 chassis.
My priorities:
* Lots of PCI Lanes
* Lots of PCIe 3.0+ / 16x slots
* Lower power, within reason
* SAS if possible, but I have a card for it if not
I've poked around Supermicro's motherboard listings and found some options that look pretty good:
1. H11SSL-NC - Single socket Epyc 7001/7002, 6 PCIe 3.0, 8x SAS, 1x M.2
2. M12SWA-TF - Single socket Threadripper 5000WX/3000WX, 6 PCIe 4.0, 3x M.2, cpus more expensive
3. H11DSi-NT - Dual socket Epyc 7001/7002, 5 PCIe 3.0, NO SAS, 1x M.2 <- can get board + 2x 7551 processors for around $700 from China
I'm also open to Xeon, but I assume Epyc/Threadripper will beat it in price and performance. Also open to other boards/combos, including ASRock Rack, but their boards don't seem to be as available.
If you have something kicking around that's comparable, let me know.
